How to Repair a Water Damaged iPhone
When you have a water-damaged iPhone and you want it to keep working, where do you start? What tools do you need? Next, phonefix will share how to fix this problem.
How to tell if your iPhone has water damage?
Finding out if your iPhone has water damage is as simple as looking for your water damage indicator. The water damage indicator is a small white label that turns red when it's wet enough to damage your device. If it turns red, there may be a problem with your phone.
how to fix
1. Immediately turn off your iPhone. This eliminates the chance of the phone shorting out and needing repairs.
2. If you have a iPhone case, or anything that might collect water in your phone, remove your case.
3. Remove your iPhone SIM card tray, it may also be water.
4. Wipe the iPhone with an absorbent cloth. Wrap a small piece of absorbent cloth around a toothpick or pin and use it to absorb moisture from the charging port, headphone jack, and SIM card tray.
5. Put the phone in a dry place and let it ventilate for as long as possible without turning it on. Wait as long as possible. This is the most important step.
6. If none of the above solutions work, you have 2 options:
Option 1:Use the disassembly tool to take apart your iPhone and let it dry inside (this will void your warranty). Let it dry for at least 48 hours.
Option 2: Take a safer approach and find a cell phone repair shop or professional to repair a water damaged cell phone.
