Must-have tool
1. Screwdriver
A screwdriver is part of every kit. It is a tool with a flat or cross-shaped tip that fits into the head of a screw. In cell phone repair, screwdrivers are used to tightening or loosening small screws that are difficult to grip with regular-sized screwdrivers.
2.Soldering Iron
It is used for soldering capacitors, transistors, diodes, etc. Components in your phone are sensitive and can be easily damaged by static electricity. So choose a soldering iron from a reliable brand that won't burn your hands or the part you're repairing.
It is a multipurpose power source welding equipment for welding different components. A soldering station is an integral part of a cell phone repair kit as it provides the required soldering facilities when needed. The soldering station consists of two units: the station and the soldering iron.
It has the option to handle the temperature according to the welding heat requirements. The soldering iron is connected to the soldering station. It is preferable and advantageous over traditional soldering irons, making soldering work more direct and faster.
4.Tweezers
Tweezers are flat-shaped devices consisting of two jaws used to pick up small objects like jumpers, integrated circuits, etc. when soldering/desoldering. It's a must-have in your phone repair kit. Mainly using tweezers when repairing the CPU of the phone.
5.Nylon spudger
A nylon spudger is another important tool for repairing your phone. A spudger is used to open devices such as smartphones, tablets, or other small electronic devices. It is sometimes used to cut the adhesive around the iPhone.
Nylon spudgers are safe for sensitive devices as they prevent scratching or shattering any part of your mobile device. They are easy to use and have a compact and lightweight design for easy portability.
A multimeter is used to detect the state of charge, power, and voltage of the device. When the multimeter is plugged in with no phone connected, it reads 0.000 or 0.00.
Once the phone is connected to the multimeter, the first three digits (ie 0.00) will change to some value. If they don't change all of them, then the phone has a battery plate or charging plate problem, which is how a multimeter works.
7. Flux
Flux is used to clean PCB tracks and legs or pins of electronic components while soldering. Use flux to remove any oxides or contaminants from solder joints before soldering. Flux improves soldering quality. There are many quality fluxes on the market.
8. Magnetic pad
Taking apart your phone results in a lot of loose screws and small parts that need to be kept organized and, more importantly, prevented from getting lost. This is where magnetic pads can be a real lifesaver.
Not only will it keep your little screws from rolling off the table and getting lost, but most pads have dividers so you can organize the parts and keep track of everything, as well as use a dry erase marker to see what's what.
9. Guitar Pick
Suction cup pliers are great, but if you're dealing with a stubborn display assembly that really sticks together, guitar picks can come in handy.
You can use them as makeshift spudgers (small plastic spudgers), but guitar picks can also be used as spacers to separate where you've pulled apart. Suppose you can pry up the bottom half of the screen, but not the top half. You can insert some guitar picks between the body and the screen on the lower half to prevent prying it up without falling back into place while the upper half is working.
Cell phone repair kits include the gadgets you need for electronics repair jobs. Most of these tools include soldering irons, desoldering pumps and wicks, solder wire, tweezers, precision screwdrivers, and more. Therefore, there is no compelling reason to buy all of these tools individually.
